Fire Pumps & Flood Control

Having produced the ultimate high-performance machines, MTT moved to the industrial marketplace. Consequently, the fully transportable turbine-powered fire pump system and water delivery unit was born, ranging in capacity from 1,700-gpm to 16,000-gpm and with turbine power from 420-hp to 1,400-hp. These compact units support port security, oil production, irrigation, water jetting, and even flood control after Hurricane Katrina.

Weight and space efficiency are always factors in marine installations. In this regard, MTT's fire pump packages are superior due to the unequaled power-to-weight ratio of turbine engines. In the case of MTT's 8000-gpm fire pump unit, its 1,400-hp engine weighs approximately 550-lbs compared to its diesel counterpart, which weighs between 8,000 and 10,000-lbs. A smaller powerplant translates to a smaller footprint, with less deck space required in a typical pump installation on a boat or platform.

Additionally, MTT's fire pump units are capable of dispensing foam or liquid and can be fueled with diesel. Since safety on the water is paramount, diesel has become the preferred fuel of the marine industry because it's less volatile than gasoline.
